Mission
We are committed to keeping Stoney Middleton’s friendly community spirit alive and to do that we believe we require a “village home”. Therefore we don’t consider this building to be just another venue for hire, we see it as a catalyst to improve life in the village. SMILE will be using the village hall pro-actively by putting on functions and events aimed at bringing people together.
We have already got mains electricity, mains water and mains drainage on site. This will help us and Stoney Middleton Football Club when we hold events on site but also when it comes to start the build.
The plan for the new build is an L shape to include a seating area for 100 people with a kitchen and store cupboards, the "Village Facility".
The other part of the L is the toilet and shower block with 2 changing rooms and external store room for play equipment.
We currently have £95,873 in the bank which has largely been raised by the hard work and generosity of the people of the Village, but now we need a further helping hand to help us reach our target.
We are tantalisingly close to being able to start the build. Can you help?
